MCG recommences our Barbados multi-client 2D survey

28 February 2013

MultiClient Geophysical (MCG) is pleased to announce that we will recommence our Barbados multiclient 2D survey in mid-March2013. The remaining program is 3,020 km and will be acquired by SeaBird's “Harrier Explorer”. About 3,900 km was acquired in spring 2012 and the processed data is currently available to oil companies.

This long streamer (10 km) MC2D survey with a record length of 13 s TWT provides the oil companies with an unique, high quality data set to evaluate the exciting geology and prospectivity of Barbados. Numerous seismic anomalies (DHI) are mapped on the Phase 1 dataset, both in structural closures and stratigraphic traps. Very thick sedimentary fore-arc basins exhibit several opportunities for hydrocarbon generation and traps at different geological levels in this rather under-explored shelf around Barbados.
